BLUE RIVER HEALTH SERVICE

Blue River Health Service, a part of the Mackay Division of General Practice, is a quality, accredited, multidi-sciplinary Allied Health Service. Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech Pathology, and Diabetes Education services are all available for GP referred or self referred patients throughout Mackay region.

This multidisciplinary approach enables all allied health professionals to easily share patient information (with your patients permission) and ensures continuity of care. As a part of Mackay Division of General Practice, the Blue River Health Service values its very close affiliation with GPs in the Mackay region. We aim to provide improved access to allied health services for all your patients.

As a not-for-profit organisation striving for excellence in patient care, we are in the process of establishing and offering your patients free associate membership to the Division; with a range of different benefits to your patients.

The service delivered through Blue River Health Services are available to all residents and visitors of Mackay region, including private patients, Veterans Affairs gold card holders, private health insurance clients, Workcover clients and those on Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plans.

GP referrals will be needed for services funded through Medicare, other government funded psychology services, Workcover and Department of Veterans Affairs.

Private patients can self refer anytime. We will, of course, be encouraging patients to allow us to keep their normal GP informed of their progress (even if they are self referred).

These services are available in:

Mackay (at the Medical Suites at Pioneer Valley Hospital, as well as Mackay Day Surgery)
Sarina, Cannonvale and Proserpine.
