PSYCHOLOGY SERVICES
WHAT?
The Psychology Services aim to improve the access of patients to therapeutic services in the region.
The key goal of the service is to improve the quality of life for people with common mental health issues , such as depression and anxiety.
WHERE?
These services are delivered from the following consulting rooms on a regular basis:
- MACKAY - Mackay Day Surgery, 85 Willetts Road.
- MACKAY - Pioneer Valley Hospital, Norris Road North Mackay
- SARINA - Colonial Corner, Shop 4, 73 Broad Street.
- CANNONVALE - 98 Shute Harbour Rd.
- PROSERPINE - C/o Blue Nursing, 10 Faust St.
Special arrangements may be made to deliver limited services from other locations (eg Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service; Youth Information Service)
HOW?
The Australian Government provides funding for these services.
This service is FREE of charge to patients referred by their GP. Services in rural areas have no limitations on sessions. Mackay patients will receive six (6) sessions and may be eligible for a further six (6) sessions after review.
HOW?
Most patients will need to be referred by their GP to access the service. Many patients seen in Mackay are bulk-billed, though fees may be involved for some patients . Services provided outside of Mackay are free of charge.
WHEN?
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm by appointment only.
WHO?
Patients will be seen by qualified registered Psychologists.
