PSYCHOLOGY SERVICES

WHAT?

The Psychology Services aim to improve the access of patients to counselling services in the region.

The Key Goals are:

To improve the quality of life for people with common mental disorders such as depression and anxiety.

To improve community wellbeing through psychological treatments of individual and improved relationships.

WHERE?

These services are delivered from the following consulting rooms:

MACKAY ? Mackay Day Surgery, 85 Willetts Road.
MACKAY - Pioneer Valley Hospital, Norris Road North Mackay
SARINA - Colonial Corner, Shop 4, 73 Broad Street.
CANNONVALE - 98 Shute Harbour Rd.
PROSERPINE - C/o Blue Nursing, 10 Faust St.

Special arrangements are in place to deliver limited services from:

MACKAY ? Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service, 31 Victoria Street.
MACKAY ? Youth Information and Referral Service, 60 Victoria Street.
SARINA ? Mudth Niyleta, 35 Central Street.
Some Residential Aged Care Facilities

HOW?

The Australian Government provides funding for these services.
This service is FREE of charge to patients referred by their GP. Services in rural areas have no limitations on sessions. Mackay patients will receive six (6) sessions and may be eligible for a further six (6) sessions after review.

WHEN?

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm by appointment only.

WHO?

Patients will be seen by registered Psychologists. These counsellors are committed to providing improved health outcomes for all clients.
